Chartres Illuminated

See the magnificent sculptures of Chartres Cathedral come alive in lights and music!

Every evening from April 1 to September 21, you can stroll through the beautifully illuminated streets of our medieval town center. An exceptional experience in color and sound created by the artist Xavier de Richemont.

Tour the city at your own pace using earphones available at the Tourist Office and participating stores. The earphones allow you to follow the program in music, as colored images and text are projected onto churches and monuments.

And for the grand finale, on the last evening the entire city will come alive for the Fête de la Lumière. There will be concerts, street musicians and costumed knights on horseback. A spectacular event you won’t forget!
