LOIGNY-LA-BATAILLE

Eglise de Loigny-la-Bataille

This 19th-century church is a tribute to the famous Franco-Prussian battle of 1870. Its crypt contains the relics of soliders, the tombs of the two French generals killed, and a magnificent painting of the battle by Lionel Royer.

Abbaye du bois de Nottonville

In the magnificent La Conie Valley, isolated in the middle of fields of wheat, the beautiful fortified Bendictine Abbey of Nottonville. The site is home to temporary exhibitions and cultural events.

Château de Villeprévost

It is inside the walls of this 17th-century castle that interrogations took place of the 300 bandits in the "Chauffeurs d'Orgères" gang in 1798. The dovecote is home to the masks of those condemned to death.

Moulin de la Garenne

The last remaining example of the four mills of Ymonville, a windmill built in around 1839 and listed as a historic monument. A silent but eloquent testimony to the Beauce milling industry.

Château de Villepion

The Château de Villepion, situated on the road Route du Blé in Beauce, is open to visitors during the summer. It was built in the 17th Century and possesses moats, gardens and remarkable façades.

Moulin de Moutiers en Beauce

Windmill built in 1770, set 800 metres from the village of Moutiers. It inspired the most famous of all Beauce millers, Marcel Barbier, the poet and songster.
