Crisscrossed by canals, the medieval town of Bonneval is known as the “Little Venice” of the Eure et Loir.
The confluence of the Loir River and the canals of Bonneval make for an original setting. And there is no better way to see the medieval towers and fortifications of this charming city than by boat. Rent an electric boat by the town hall, and discover the city at your own pace. You’ll see sites including the Porte Saint-Roche, one of the city’s original gates, and along the canal, the old open-air laundries (52 in all), the 12th-century Eglise Notre-Dame and the Ancienne Justice.
To go further afield along the Loir River, opt for a canoe or kayak trip.
