The Museum of Loigny la Bataille documents an important battle that took place on the fields of the Beauce on December 2, 1870. The time was the Franco-Prussian war, and here at Loigny, over 9,000 men lost their lives. In fact the Beauce was the scene of several devastating battles, where the French were defeated as the Prussians set up camp in the towns from Orgères to Villeprévost.
