From the motorcycle to the bicycle with auxiliary motor! As early as 1897, brothers Eugène and Michel Werner registered the word "motocyclette". Until then, motorized two-wheeled machines were known by a variety of names, such as "autocyclette" and "pétrolette". On the first Werner, the motor was mounted above the front wheel.
