It is thought to have been designed by Pierre Lescot (Le Louvres, Château of Fleury). The left-hand wing from the 16th century was modified on several occasions in the 18th and 19th centuries. The central part had a horse-shoe shaped staircase. in the 19th century, the château acquired a Neo-Classical appearance in the fashion of the times, while the side facing the grounds became Neo-Baroque.
