It was Guillaume de BAIGNEAUX, Lord of Chaunay and Vauventriers, who had the castle built in 1609. In 1774, Jacques GRANDET, "president in the election of Chartres" bought the castle. During the 19th and 20th centuries, the GRANDET family gave 4 generations of municipal magistrates to the commune of Champhol. Since then, the castle has been passed down through the generations to its current owners. The building consists of a rectangular main building covered in slate, flanked by 2 pavilions and 2 lower wings in return. The small chapel of Our Lady of Consolation is located in the right wing. At the end of the left wing is located the entrance gate, accompanied by a small door, intended to receive a drawbridge. Today, this gate gives access to the farm.
